Disk or memory error occurred

Fresh install of smartdraw, recieve this error on most attempts on template opening,"Disk or memory error occurred", applied the update from website, reduced the error occurance, but it still happens. Anyone have any suggestions? Could be a rights issue as the user is restricted....

What version is this?  This could be a default print driver confliction, or if a more recent version of SmartDraw, possibly a confliction with the download on demand feature for the template or symbols.  We have Knowledge Base Articles for the various versions so you can download the symbols and templates directly.  The Knowledge Base is located here:

I'm actually getting this on the activated version of 2010, but only for copy/paste operations.

I'm running Windows 7 RTM. Copy/paste worked fine in the trial version, and as soon as I converted it stopped and now gives me a disk or memory error.

Copy/paste works fine in other programs, FYI.

Try the following and see if it makes a difference: 

While SmartDraw is closed right click on the Desktop shortcut for SmartDraw and choose "Run as Administrator".  Does that resolve the copy / paste issue?  If so, close SmartDraw and right click on the Desktop icon again and choose "Properties".  Then go to the "Compatibility" tab and put a check mark in "Run this program as an administrator".  Then click "Apply" and "OK".

This did the trick, although it's curious that when this was installed as a trial version copy/paste worked fine. It wasn't until the program was activated that the issue came up, but nonetheless this solved it.

I have the same error on smartdraw 2010. However I'm the local admin on the computer and it's running on windows xp.

This issue for me just started.  I am well into a huge Gantt chart and have been able to add dependencies the whole time until now. Other actions still seem to work so far.

I have version 10 installed over a trial version. I am the admin on a local pc running xp. The resolution above doesn't work for me because the properties doesn't offer that option since I'm logged in as admin.

Please help - I'm on a deadline and if I don't resolve it soon, I will have to purchase MS Project.

I am running Win 7 HP 64bit and Smartdraw 2010.  I am having the same copy/paste error.  Running as administrator did not help the problem.  I think perhaps the operating system is getting confused with where it stores things in memory.  Perhaps Smartdraw is being given memory addresses that are conflicting with the clipboard or something weird like that.  My install has been very stable except when I copy/paste between projects.  There are many winxp machines in the computer lab at my school that have this exact same problem.  My professor was pretty upset by it in class today because he was unable to finish demonstrating how to merge two processes together. 

Anyways, I solved the problem for now just by continually trying to paste the clipboard with keyboard shortcuts.  It took about 30 tries in rapid succession before my items were finally pasted.  Perhaps this info will be useful for other users.  Hopefully an update or patch will solve this problem soon.

I to am having the same problem using Windows 7 with SD-2010.  It's vital to my business and is hampering my design production.
