    Cross Sectional Floor Plans

    Hi All,

I am trying to draw a cross-section floor plan with elevation. I need for example to include the wall thickness with insulation layers. I need this to get approval from the City to approve a new bay window and a push-out wall (Cantilever). They are asking me for the details of the thickness of the drywall, insulation and outdoor side-walls. I saw the storage templates but perhaps some that has more experience on this can post a good example for us.

Another question? How do I print the scale of the drawings?

    Jose,

We do not have any templates for that in SmartDraw I'm afraid.  You can certainly draw something like that using the shape and line tools though.  You can even draw it to scale if you wish.  You can use the Hatch Fill feature to differentiate between the different layers as well.  That would be done manually though.  You can also use the Text tool on the Home Ribbon to add a key.

See the attached example I drew for a customer from a while back (hopefully it is roughly what you are seeking).

For an explanation on drawing to scale in SmartDraw, use this link to our floor plans tutorial:

Thank you, I get the idea. Very much work with the boxes and fill-in as required. Ok. I can work with that. I will post back the file I will create.

    Thank you!
